Melting Snowman cookies

 Hey Honeybees!

 If you're looking for something quick and easy to make with the kids this Christmas then these melting snowman cookies are for you.

What you'll need:


Pretzels
200g Fondant Icing sugar
White Marshmallows
Mini Chocolate Beans
Black writing icing
Pre made Cookies

Preparation time: 30 minutes
Makes 6 cookies

1. Put the icing sugar into a bowl and add 1 teaspoon of cold water at a time until the icing is runny but thick enough to coat the spoon.



2.Snip the Marshmallows in half with wet scissors.



3.Spread some icing onto the cookie and place half a marshmallow in the icing. Use a bit more icing to stick the other marshmallow in front at an angle. Drizzle some more icing on to make it look like a melting snowman.


4. Break the pretzels until they look like snowman arms and place them on the cookie. Using the icing stick a orange mini chocolate bean for the nose. Also add three chocolate beans to the cookie to look like the buttons.


5. Using the black writing icing, pipe two black spots for eyes and a line for the smile. Leave them to set.

Supermarket Haul

Hey Honeybees!

 Over the last few days I've picked up a few bits and bobs from Tesco and Asda. I'll start with what I got in Tesco, a couple of Christmas decorations.

 The first thing I got was a sparkly Squirrel decoration for the Christmas tree. This little fella cost me £2.50.

 The other thing I got from Tesco is a cute little Christmas plaque saying "Tis the season to be jolly fa la la la la la la la la" I paid £4 for this, I think I got it discounted.

The next things I bought were from Asda. I got two Christmas cushions one that says "You had me at Ho Ho" and one that says "Who ate all the mince pies" They cost £5 each.

The next things I got from Asda were Items of clothing. As you may have noticed if you live In the UK it has started to turn very cold. So I thought I better get something to keep me warm. I got myself a new beanie hat it's a pale blue knitted hat with sparkly diamonds around the bottom. This hat cost me £5.

The last thing I bought from Asda was a pale blue jumper. This also has a knitted look and it feels really soft to wear. This jumper was just £12.

One other thing I got that wasn't from a supermarket it was from Primark, but I thought I'd include it as it's so cute. It's a little Christmas hanging sign that says "Don't get your tinsel in a tangle. It only cost £1.50

Home-made Gingerbread men

Hey Honeybees!
Christmas baking time is upon us and I thought I'd bake some gingerbread men and show you how I made them.

What you'll need:

Ingredients

350g Plain flour, plus extra for rolling
1 egg
125g butter
1 tsp bicarbonate of soda
2 tsp ground ginger
1 tsp ground cinnamon
175g light brown sugar
4 tbsp golden syrup

To decorate


Writing icing (whatever colours you like)
Smarties or M & M's

Makes 20 gingerbread men
30 minutes to 1 hour Preparation time
10 to 30 minutes cook time

How to make:


1. Sift the flour, bicarbonate of soda, ginger and cinnamon into a food processor bowl. Add the butter (chopped) and blend until the mixture looks like breadcrumbs. Mix in the sugar at this point.





2. Gently beat an egg with the golden syrup and add to the food processor until the mixture clumps together.




Tip the dough out, knead until smooth, then wrap in cling film and leave in the fridge for 15 minutes to chill.



3. Preheat the oven to 180C/350F/Gas mark 4 and line two baking trays with greaseproof paper.

4. Roll the dough out to 0.5cm thickness on a floured surface,


Using cookie cutters, cut out the gingerbread men and place on a baking tray, leaving a gap between them as the mixture will spread and you'll end up with one giant gingerbread.




5. Bake in the oven for 12-15 minutes until lightly golden-brown.


Leave on the tray for ten minutes and then move to a rack to finish cooling.


When cooled decorate with the writing icing and Smarties or any decorations you like.

Clothing Haul

Hey Honeybees!


I've bought a few items of clothing from different places recently so I thought I'd do a collective haul. 

I'll start with a dress I bought from Asos Curve and some boots I got from Primark.

 This Asos Curve Swing Dress  with tartan sleeves has been on my wish list for a while. I have a bit of a thing for tartan at the moment and I think it goes really well with the navy blue. I paid £25 for this dress.

I'm also wearing a pair of black ankle boots from Primark. They have a chunky silver chain on the back that jingle when you walk, it sounds like Santa's sleigh. I paid £18 for these boots, which is kind of steep for Primark but I think they're worth it.

My next Outfit is from Simply Be, a shirt, skirt and pair of boots.





Here I'm wearing a Pull on Velour Skater Skirt in the colour wine. I paid £14 for this skirt which is a really lovely material.

On my top half I'm wearing a foil print boxy shirt that I paid £30 for. It has a gold print on sheer black material, I wear a little black vest top underneath.

On my feet I'm wearing Catwalk collection chain ankle boots from Simply Be. These are similar to my Primark boots except these are patent and have a line across the toes and some elastic near the buckle. I paid £35 for these ones and they come in different fits for the larger lady.

The last two things I'm going to show you are a coat from Simply Be and a bag from Primark.



The coat I'm wearing From Simply Be is a Jeffrey and Paula swing coat I paid £80 for this, which is expensive but it's such good quality and warm for winter. It has a lovely texture to it to and I love the colour grape.

The bag I'm carrying is from Primark, it's black and white houndstooth. I paid £6 for this little bag.

The Christmas Tag

Hey Honeybees!

 This December I'm doing lots of Christmas themed posts, so I thought it would be fun to do the Christmas tag. As with other tags I've done I'm going to use some of the questions from the original tag and add some of my own. So lets get going.

 1. What is your favourite Christmas film?

 This is the easiest question to answer ever, It's Elf. 

2. What is your favourite Christmas song?

 Christmas Wrapping by the Waitresses. 

 3. Do you open any presents on Christmas Eve?

 How can I open my presents on Christmas Eve when that's when Santa delivers them. 

 4.  Is your Christmas tree real or fake?

 It's a fake 8ft tree.

 5. What would be your dream place to visit at Christmas?

 New York! I have always wanted to go at Christmas I always imagine it to be Magical.

6. Are you a pro-present wrapper, or do you fail miserably?

I'm not too bad but I do tend to lose my patience and just say oh they'll do.
7. What made you realise the truth about Santa?

 What truth?  What do you mean?

8.Egg Nog or Hot Chocolate?

 Hot Chocolate with marshmallows. 

9. Coloured lights or White?

 I think coloured lights but not usually mixed ones. I'd like a green set, blue set, purple set, pink set and red set. 

 10. Stocking or Presents?

 Presents! I love ripping the wrapping paper off.

11. Angel or Star?

 A star, although I have Santa on the top of my tree.

12. Warm Fires or Sleigh Rides?

 A lovely sleigh ride with a cosy blanket.

13. Snow Ball Fight or Making Snowmen?

 Definitely, make a Snowman. I can't wait to build one this year, I hope it snows. 

14. Were you Naughty or Nice this year?

 Nice of course, I always am.

15. What’s your favourite Christmas food?

 Christmas dinner! Mine includes Turkey, Roast Potatoes, Sweetcorn, Sprouts, Yorkshire Pudding, Sage and Onion Stuffing, Pigs in blankets and gravy.

16. Can you name all of Santa’s reindeer?

 Dasher and Dancer, Comet and Cupid, Donner and Vixen, Prancer and Blitzen and of course Rudolph.

17. What part of Christmas do you look forward to the most?

 I love Christmas lights and decorations the most. It really cheers me up.

 18. As a kid, what was the gift you always wanted but never received?

 Barbie's Caravan, I was gutted.

 19. What would you like to find in your Christmas stocking?

 It would have to be a big stocking but I'd like a Canon 700d Camera.

 20. Sprouts - delicious or evil? 

 They are yummy, I love them.

21. Who was Christmas Number one the year you were born?

 The Human league - Don't you want me. Not very Christmassy is it?

22. Did you take part in Christmas plays at school?

 I certainly did, I was always the 3rd angel, lol.

23.Which person would you most like to meet under the mistletoe?

 Mr Honeybee of course but if he's busy Olly Murs will do.


24. Gift wrap or gift bags?

 Even though it drives me nuts, definitely Gift wrap it's so much prettier.

 25. Tell us a Christmas joke.

 Q.What did Adam say on the day before Christmas ? 
A. It's Christmas, Eve !
